£2.4m bill to gag MP staff
THE House of Commons has spent £2.4million of taxpayers’ cash silencing staff with “gagging clauses” in severance payments.
It was paid in 53 nondisclosure agreements from 2013 to 2017, Freedom of Information data reveals.
Tory MP Maria Miller said: “There needs to be as much transparency as there can be as to how this money is being used.”
