VANISHING ACT HAS MADE MATAS WORSE

MEXICO fan Francis Javier Mata Sanchez will have a lot of explaining to do when he returns home to his wife after a police hunt found him staying with a woman in Moscow.

Sanchez, a 41-year-old father of one, was reported missing by his brother after he failed to show up for Mexico’s 1-0 win over Germany last weekend.

He had last been seen walking out of a bar at 2am with a local woman and police launched a manhunt after he failed to contact his family for 72 hours.

Sanchez was found alive and well in the flat of the woman he had met.

Wife Yadira has promised to stand by him for the sake of their 10-month-old daughter. But it might be a while before he qualifies for another World Cup.
