YOUR MEMORIES

This is a photo of my late mother, Kathleen Doust, nee Sadler. It was taken in December 1938 at a photographic studio in Deptford, South East London, to celebrate her 21st birthday. I think the pose makes her look like a model, but she was, in fact, a hairdresser. I think it’s a real pity people no longer have such photos taken. Carol Doust South London
