Teen’s death riddle sparks police alert

A GIRL aged 15 died after being poisoned by an unknown substance.

She was found near a disused viaduct and airlifted to A&E.

A boy aged 14, found critically ill, is recovering.

Insp Pete Turner, of Devon and Cornwall Police, said: “Inquiries are ongoing as to how the substance was obtained.

“We urge parents and carers to speak to children about the risks of taking unknown substances.”

The teens were taken ill at around 4pm on Saturday in their hometown of Tavistock, Devon, and rushed to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.

A substance found at the scene is being tested.
