GORDON HAS HAND INJURY

-

ROYAL Ascot winner Old Persian could make a swift return to action in Saturday's Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at the Curragh.

Charlie Appleby‘s charge claimed his fifth victory from eight career starts in Friday's King Edward VII Stakes.

The trainer said: “His Highness Sheikh Mohammed has agreed to review the situation about thew Irish Derby." JOSEPHINE GORDON expects to be out of action for around two weeks after injuring her hand at Ayr on Saturday.

The rider banged her left hand as Gnaad jumped out of the stalls and an X-ray revealed a fracture.

She said: ”I‘m in for a couple of easy weeks on the sidelines.

”I hurt my left hand quite badly.

”I knew it wasn‘t great at the time but, after I went for an X-ray, it was confirmed as fractured.”
