MUSA ON A MISSION TO KO MESSI
LEICESTER misfit Ahmed Musa vowed revenge on Argentina before the World Cup.
Now he has the chance to fulfil his pledge when Nigeria face Lionel Messi and Co knowing a draw could be enough to make the last-16 and hand the South Americans a humiliating exit.
Musa, who spent last season back on loan at CSKA Moscow after a disappointing first term at the Foxes, scored twice four years ago when Nigeria lost 3-2 to Argentina in Brazil.
In the build-up to Russia, he joked: “Maybe it’s time to take revenge.” Today, in Saint Petersburg, he has his chance.
Musa (below), who scored both goals in the 2-0 win over Iceland, said: “With Messi on the pitch I always do well. I know scoring against Argentina isn’t difficult for me.”
