Bleak memory for Maradona

ARGENTINA’S clash with Nigeria will bring back painful memories for Diego Maradona.

It is almost 24 years to the day since he was kicked out of the World Cup for failing a drug test.

The Hand of God’s fall from grace came on June 25, 1994 in Foxboro Stadium, Massachusetts.

Argentina had beaten Nigeria 2-1 when Maradona (above) was led off the pitch before testing positive for ephedrine and pseudoephedrine.

He was booted out of the tournament in disgrace and never played for Argentina again.
