Dad in penis size row beating walks free
A MAN who battered his daughter’s boyfriend, who had hit her for mocking the size of his penis, has been spared jail.
Garth Murphy suffered a broken jaw and cheekbone in the attack by Garry Field, 46, in August last year.
He had been drinking with Field’s daughter Jade, 24, and watching Channel 4 dating show Naked Attraction, where people judge each other’s naked bodies.
He said: “Jade started making derogatory remarks about body size, penis size. There was a bit of an argument.”
After Jade was hit twice, Field rushed to the house. Mr Murphy said of the aftermath: “I was lying in a pool of blood.” Field denied GBH but was convicted at Maidstone crown court.
He got 18 months, suspended two years, after Recorder Neil Cameron ruled he was not a danger to the public.
He also took into account mental health issues and Jade losing their home in Cliffe Woods, Kent, if he were jailed.
