FORMER Open champion Paul Lawrie will miss the tournament’s return to Carnoustie – the scene of his win in 1999. Scot Lawrie, 49, (right) says his season is over due to back and foot injuries. He said on his official website: “Unfortunately, both the back and foot injuries I have been carrying for the last six months have become debilitating, to the point I am not able to compete.”
