The £20billion announced last week is a start, and shows what can be achieved by pressure from campaigning, but it is nowhere near enough to repair the damage done to the NHS and social care by eight years of austerity.
Underfunding is not the only issue. The NHS is being broken up into small chunks and parcelled off to the private sector.
This must stop before it’s too late and we end up with a US-style insurance-based system. Keep the pressure on, it’s not safe yet.
