Jezza ‘happy’ to meet Trump and ‘engage with US regime’

JEREMY Corbyn would be “happy” to meet Donald Trump if his UK visit goes ahead, according to his spokesman.

The Labour leader thinks the July 13 visit should be delayed after the row over the US President detaining the children of illegal immigrants.

But his spokesman said: “He’s made clear he’s happy to meet Donald Trump, not just here – in the US or anywhere. It’s imporOUTSPOKEN Jeremy Corbyn tant to engage with the US government. They may have views about people who speak out as clearly as Jeremy but that doesn’t stand in the way of dialogue.” Protocol means it is up to the White House to request a meeting – but no invitation has been received. Former PM Tony Blair also waded into the row yesterday, saying: “For heaven’s sake, what we can’t do is do Brexit and then refuse to meet the American president.”
