TOMMY FLEETWOOD says he’s surprised so few Americans are playing in the French Open at Le Golf National, venue for September’s Ryder Cup.
The defending champion will play the first two rounds with world No.2 Justin Thomas but no other potential member of the USA team is in France. US Open runner-up Fleetwood said: “I’d have expected a couple more. It’s a surprise.”
Spaniard Jon Rahm added: “I thought there would be five or six American Ryder Cup players.”
