NEW AUDI TAKES WING

A second generation of Audi’s A1 supermini is on its way, new from the ground up. It will be available only in Sportback form (five doors in other words) and is 56mm longer than the original car. Fortunately the width is the same at 1.74m.

Three trim levels will be available starting with SE and running through Sport and S Line. The latter is the sportiest with larger front air intakes and a large rear wing. This trim will also be available with the most powerful engine at launch – a 200bhp version of VW’s 2.0-litre TFSI engine. The new A1 goes on sale in September.
