TESCO has become the first big supermarket to trial a fully cashless store.
Many will wonder what the fuss is about. They are used to using plastic or smart phones to pay. But lots of shoppers still like to use cash.
Some find self-service checkouts frustrating, impersonal or bewildering. Others enjoy a quick chat with the person on the checkout.
They should not be forgotten in the rush to a cashless society. We can’t stop change but we can help people through it.
