Grantchester vicar role for Midwife Tom
CALL the Midwife’s Tom Brittney is set to play a new clergyman in detective drama Grantchester.
Tom, 27, will star as Rev Will Davenport alongside Geordie Keating, played by Robson Green.
James Norton is set to quit as vicar Sidney Chambers after the fourth series, which is being filmed now.
Tom was Jack Rawle in BBC’s Call the Midwife.
He said of his new role: “I am beyond excited. It’s a real honour to be joining such a wonderful series, with such a loyal fan base.”
James, 32, said: “It’s heartbreaking to be saying goodbye to Sidney Chambers. All the best to the fantastic Tom Brittney.”
ITV’s Grantchester, based on James Runcie’s novels, is a worldwide hit.
