ENGLAND are sweating on Stuart Broad’s fitness after he suffered ankle pain on championship duty with Notts.
Broad had a scan on his sore left ankle yesterday and England medics expect to know more over the weekend.
But it is a massive cause for concern ahead of five Tests in six weeks against India this summer.
Opening bowling sidekick James Anderson is already taking time off to manage his shoulder problem.
And the loss of Broad would be a hammer blow to an England side trying to work out how they will eventually cope when their two top seamers hang up their spikes.
Broad has had problems with his ankle before, but the sight of it swelling up after bowling 22 overs against Worcester is a major concern.
