Skint Villa can’t give boss Bruce free hand

STEVE BRUCE has been told Aston Villa can not even afford free transfers while they are in a financial crisis.

Owner Dr Tony Xia is trying to find new investment or a new owner for Villa after their Championship play-off final loss.

Boss Bruce (above) has yet to sign any new players this summer. He wants free agent defender Robert Huth, who has left Leicester, to replace John Terry, but Villa officials cannot finalise the contract.
