Booze-only pubs ‘dying’
PUBS that only serve drinks could die out in Britain, a book warns.
But From Taverns to Gastropubs author Professor Christel Lane claims those that sell a range of food will survive.
She warned boozers are being taxed out of business and added: “Drink-only pubs are not viable except in city centres.”
But bosses in the craft ale market insist the trendy beers are sparking a revival in pubs selling just drink.
