Thieves take couple’s cash at cemetery

- BY LOUIE SMITH

THIEVES stole £1,800 from a grieving couple as they chose a cemetery plot for their dead daughter who had been expecting a baby.

Ronnie and Caroline Hall, 47 and 53, returned to their car to find funeral cash had been stolen along with a photo of Megan.

The 29-year-old had died of a brain haemorrhage two days earlier and her unborn daughter could not be saved.

Ronnie said: “We came back to the car and my wife just screamed and it broke her heart in two. “We are disgusted.” Megan of Whittlesey, Cambs, was 26 weeks pregnant with her second child when she fell ill suddenly.

Police are investigating the theft on June 17, at Eastfield Cemetery in Peterborough, Cambs.
