Repeat showing for Barr-ed star
Roseanne Barr’s apology for tweeting that black businesswoman Valerie Jarrett was the product of a sex act between “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes” was a classic box-ticker.
She wept before cameras. She swore by her God it wasn’t like her. She claimed it was the medication wot dunnit. She said she felt worse for the workers who had lost their jobs now that ABC has cancelled her show, than herself. She argued she couldn’t possibly be racist because Martin Luther King was her idol, and said she didn’t even know that Jarrett, a highprofile former senior adviser to Barack Obama, was black.
Which may, if you were feeling charitable, have been a credible explanation. Except that five years ago the huge Donald Trump fan referred to another high-profile black Obama adviser, Susan Rice, as “a man with big swinging ape balls”.
You’ve got to love a trained actress haven’t you? Or maybe not.
