Ryan Walton was snapped holding the noses of lemon sharks off the coast of Palm Beach, Florida.

The move puts the predators into tonic immobility – a state of paralysis often called animal hypnosis that lets divers create a bond with them.

Photographer Leigh Cobb said: “I need to keep my wits about me as these are wild animals and there are no cages for us and no training involved.”
