Undersized beer glasses a sore pint
Recall as drinks are 8ml too small
A MAJOR nationwide restaurant chain has been caught serving undersized pints.
Bosses at the firm ordered a nationwide recall of the glasses after a Trading Standards office inquiry.
Following a “significant complaint”, officers found that the glasses were 8.1ml short of the 568ml that should be in a British pint.
The firm withdrew 41 glasses from two bars in Birmingham, ahead of a

Pint glass wider recall. Officials have not identified the chain or the glass manufacturer as the case did not result in a prosecution. The investigation took place in November last year, but has just been revealed in a council report for 2017/18. A Birmingham City Council spokesman said: “It was referred to the relevant body to action and an audit was carried out. “The supplier and retailer [removed] the glassware from use and supply with immediate effect.”
