Feeling hot hot hot

-

IT’S going to be a scorcher with this year’s Championships on course to be the hottest Wimbledon on record.

With temperatures set to remain around 27C, and climb to 32C at the weekend, the tournament average high of 25.4C is in danger.

No wonder the

MILOS RAONIC was world No.3 and a Wimbledon finalist just two years ago – not that you would have known the way he strolled to practice without an entourage or anyone even noticing who he was.

Contrast that with Rafael Nadal who needed seven security guards to shepherd him around and had hundreds of fans following him like the Pied Piper.

In truth, Raonic is renowned for not being the most charismatic, so the lack of fuss probably suited him. Centre Court roof was closed before play began yesterday to keep the searing heat out of the arena and off the court!

GREEK No.1 Stefanos Tsitsipas has done well to become useful on grass given the handicap he had growing up.

Asked if there were grass courts in his homeland to practise on, Tsitsipas (right) smiled: “None. Only at the fields where the cows were!”
