INIESTA’S TIME IS UP FOR SPAIN

ANDRES INIESTA has confirmed his international retirement. The 34-year-old (above) ended his trophy-laden spell at Barcelona at the end of the season and will now represent Vissel Kobe in Japan’s J-League.

He started all three group games in the World Cup, but was only a sub in the defeat to Russia.

“Now is the time to step aside,” said Iniesta, in an open letter.
