‘I’ll cut off leg to end agony’

A WOMAN of 24 is planning to pay £9,000 to have her leg amputated and end seven years of agony.

Paige Howitt has complex regional pain syndrome, which causes a burning at her left knee.

It began after her nerves were shattered in surgery to align her kneecap.

Paige, from Great Barr, Birmingham, said: “The pain is getting worse.

“An amputation will cost £9,000 to go private because NHS doesn’t treat my condition.”
