...and some sour grapes from South America

-

COLOMBIA captain Radamel Falcao and “hand of God” villain Diego Maradona both claimed the match ref was biased in favour of England yesterday.

Ignoring his own side’s dirty tactics, Falcao blasted US referee Mark Geiger, who struggled to keep control in a match with 36 fouls and eight yellow cards.

The ex-Man United striker said: “It was clear that in the face of doubt he always blew for England and it is a disgrace that this happens in the round of 16.”

Maradona, meanwhile, went on TV to claim that the penalty given when Carlos Sanchez grappled with Harry Kane, was in fact a foul by the England captain.

The Argentine cheat, whose hand ball cost England the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, said: “I saw a monumental theft. I apologise to all the Colombian people.”

Kane, fouled nine times, became the most targeted Three Lions star since Alan Shearer was fouled 11 times in 1998. And after Shearer’s pundit role was over on Tuesday night, he was heard to curse off-air: “Colombia you cheating, robbing. f***ing...”
