BRITISH NO.1 Jo Konta today becomes the first top player to feel the impact of the decision to seed Serena Williams. The American superstar is ranked world No.181 after maternity leave but her record of winning seven titles at Wimbledon has seen her seeded No.25 – with world No.32 Dominika Cibulkova bumped out. And today Konta (left) faces Cibulkova, twice a Wimbledon quarter-finalist, in the second round. Konta said at the French Open that it would be unfair to penalise players who had earned a top-32 ranking. “I think seeding is on a player’s current form,” she said.
