HOW ironic in a week when trade union Unite began a campaign to encourage all fans to take a stand against the increasingly poisonous Football Lads Alliance, Mo Salah signed a five-year contract with Liverpool ending all talk of a possible move to Spain.

The far right group’s stated intention, as voiced by jailed ex-EDL leader Tommy Robinson, is “football supporters coming together to oppose the Islamisation of Britain”.

But I doubt you’ll find too many football-lovers in this country agreeing with the view that the PFA Player Of The Year, Football Writers’ Player Of The Year, Premier League Player Of The Season, Premier League Golden Boot winner, PFA Fans’ Player Of The Year, and devout follower of Islam (above) needs to be stopped spreading his genius around our football pitches.
