JOEY BARTON’S infamous take five years ago on Neymar: “He’s the Justin Bieber of football. Brilliant on the old YouTube, cat p*ss in reality” hasn’t aged too well, with the Brazilian superstar going on to become the most expensive player in the world.

But in light of Neymar’s theatrical antics in Russia, maybe Joey should be given a chance to update his quote by swapping Bieber for another legend of French heritage: “He’s the Jacques Cousteau of football. World class on the ball, a world-class diver without it.”
