Baby murder probe nurse’s garden is dug

ARRESTED Nurse Letby POLICE investigat­ing the nurse suspected of murdering babies have started digging in her back garden.

Officers also climbed over the fence into woodland behind 28-year-old Lucy Letby’s house.

And there was a fingertip search of the semi-detached property.

Letby was yesterday quizzed for the third day on suspicion of murdering eight newborns at the Countess of Chester Hospital where she has been employed since 2011.

Letby, whose home is a mile from the hospital in Chester, has been quizzed over the alleged attempted murder of six babies.

On Wednesday, the day after her arrest, the probe widened to include Liverpool Women’s Hospital where she had placements.
