It already has a cult following in America – now Aldi has launched Bourbon Aged Cabernet Sauvignon here. Matured in old whisky barrels, the rich red wine has a distinctive bourbon twang. We tested an £8.99 bottle and found the spirit backdrop subtle enough not to overpower the wine but intriguing enough to carry on sipping. Sure to be an ice-breaker at barbies and get-togethers.
