ARIANA Grande has defended her comedian fiance Pete Davidson for a sick Manchester Arena bombing joke, saying it “wasn’t malicious”.

The Saturday Night Live star, 24, talking at a gig about Ariana’s fame, said “Britney Spears didn’t have a terrorist attack at her concert”.

The attack last May killed 22 and left the singer, 25, with PTSD.

But yesterday Ariana spoke out about the gag, made before they got together, for the first time. In a tweet to a fan who asked why she was still with him she wrote: “This has been v tough on my heart.

“He uses comedy to help ppl feel better ab how f–ed up things are.

“We all deal w trauma differently. I of course didn’t find it funny. His intention wasn’t/is never malicious but it was unfortunate.”

Aged seven, Davidson lost his firefighter dad at 9/11. He has said: “I like making things that are dark, awkward.” The pair met in May and got engaged two weeks later.
