Lion with TB put to sleep

A ZOO has been forced to put down the matriarch of its Asiatic lion pride after she contracted TB.

Indu, 14, was euthanised at Paignton Zoo, Devon, amid fears she would spread the disease.

Mammals curator Nic Dunn said: “We had to take the right decision, no matter how hard it was.”
