WW2 ship explosion shows its hue colours
A PLUME of smoke rises as British troops invade Sicily in the Second World War.
These dramatic images have been colourised on the 75th anniversary of Operation Husky in July, 1943.
US “liberty ship” the SS Robert Rowan
was hit by a German Ju 88 bomber, causing a cargo of munitions to explode.
Other pictures, coloured by Cardiff electrician Royston Leonard, include Gen Bernard Montgomery shaking hands with Lt Gen George Patton.
