Man held on moor ‘arson’
A MAN of 20 has been arrested on suspicion of arson over the week-long moorland blaze.
The Wigan man was held after the fire on Winter Hill, Bolton, as Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham stood down firefighters applauding their “good progress”.
And at Saddleworth Moor, near Oldham, troops have left the firefight as officials wait for rain to douse underground peat fires.
