£1m UK cash to ID Balkans war victims

CASH to help identify 12,000 victims from the conflicts in the Balkans will be announced today.

It comes as foreign ministers meet in London for a summit to boost security and economic co-operation in the region.

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson will support a £1million scheme to help identify those missing from the 1990s conflicts as the former Yugoslavia broke up amid bloodshed.

It is part of a £10million fund for the region which includes training schemes.

Mr Johnson said they would “provide young people with digital skills to fulfil their potential”.
