Dental Cone Beam CT

This is a special type of X-ray machine used in situations where regular dental X-rays aren’t sufficiently detailed. Dental cone beam computed tomography isn’t used routinely because the radiation exposure from this scanner is significantly more than with normal dental X-rays. This type of CT scanner uses a special type of technology to generate 3D images of the teeth, gums, nerve paths and bone which allows for more precise treatment.
