MATALAN PROFITS LEAP 11%

High street chain Matalan hailed a trio of triumphs after posting an 11% jump in profits. Boss Jason Hargreaves said it had upped its game in “delivering the combination of design, quality and value that customers love from Matalan”. Kids’ clothing was a standout hit as sales at the fashion and homewares chain increased profits to nearly £25million in the three months to the end of May on sales up 4.5% to £265m.
