CITY ‘TIE UP’ £67M MAHREZ

MANCHESTER CITY are poised to announce the £67million capture of Riyad Mahrez from Leicester.

The Algeria winger (right) will sign a £200,000-a-week, five-year deal at the Etihad.

The 2016 PFA Player of the Year tried to force the move in January, only to briefly go on strike after the Foxes refused to sanction his sale. But he has now become the Premier League champions’ first summer signing since winning the title after knuckling down and biding his time to earn his dream move.

Mahrez was allowed to miss Leicester’s pre-season trip to France to wrap up the deal.

And he is understood to be unfazed at being a squad player rather than a member Pep Guardiola’s first XI.
