Dai back from dead

DAI GREENE says his mental strength can once again make him a major force to on the global stage.

Ten days ago the former world champion came back from the sporting dead to win his fifth British title and a place in this weekend’s Athletics World Cup.

Five injury-hit years were forgotten as the Welsh 400 metre hurdler returned to the top of the podium.

“I’ve been dealt a rough hand,” said Britain’s London 2012 team captain. “But not once was I tempted to quit.

On returning to London’s Olympic Stadium for the eight-nation event, he said: “Don’t write me off, the last two Olympic champions were older than I am now.”
