ANGEL STILL FLYING HIGH

- BY ADRIAN KAJUMBA

ANGELIQUE KERBER believes anyone can take the Wimbledon title this year after reaching her third semi-final.

The German (above, right), the 11th and top seed left, booked her place in the last four alongside compatriot Julia Goerges, Jelena Ostapenko and Serena Williams.

The 2016 runner-up needed seven match points before finally seeing off 21-year-old Russian rising star Daria Kasatkina (above, left) 6-3 7-5.

And the two-time Slam winner said: “There are no favourites any more. We are in the semis now.

“I’m not looking left or right. I’m not worried about the others. I’m really taking care about my game, about how I play on court.”

Kerber will face 12th seed and ballroom dancer Ostapenko, who waltzed into the semis with a 7-5 6-4 win over Dominika Cibulkova.

Latvian Ostapenko, the French Open winner last year, warned: “I have all this motivation to win another Major.”
