£70million record bet

TONIGHT’S game will have £70million riding on it – the most ever bet on a game.

An England win will cost bookies up to £25million.

The vast majority of bets will be placed on England to beat Croatia in the World Cup semi-final in 90 minutes.

Paddy Power’s Lee Price said: “The game is on course to break records in terms of the amount of money punters are gambling.”

England are now priced as 5-2 second favourites to lift the trophy.
