NIGHTMARE OZIL’S BEEN RUBBISH FOR YEARS
Bayern President Hoeness hits back at Arsenal star in racism row that has caused uproar in German football
MESUT OZIL has been slammed by Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness for “playing crap for years” before quitting the Germany team in a racism row.
And Hoeness declared he was “glad this nightmare is over” because he no longer wanted to see the Arsenal playmaker in the national line-up.
Midfield star Ozil won the World Cup four years
ago with Germany, but claims his Turkish heritage means: “I am not accepted in society. I am being treated different.”
He made three posts on his Twitter account on Sunday about his treatment, finishing by saying he would never play for Germany again.
But Hoeness (above), a World Cup winner with West Germany in 1974, said: “I’m glad this nightmare is over. He has been playing crap for years.
“The last tackle he won was before the 2014 World Cup – and now he is hiding himself and his poor performances behind this photo (of him with controversial Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan).
“His 35million followers, that do not actually exist in the real world, believe Ozil has played exceptionally when he finds his man with a square ball.”
