Baby, you can drive Sir Paul & John’s cars
SIR Paul McCartney’s old Mini Cooper and the last car used by John Lennon are being auctioned.
John’s Mercedes-Benz 300TD station wagon was parked at the Dakota building in New York where he lived at the time he was shot dead there in 1980.
Sir Paul’s car was one of four custom-built Minis made for him and his fellow Beatles.
His 1965 Morris Mini Cooper S De Ville was featured in the band’s 1967 film Magical Mystery Tour.
Worldwide Auctioneers, which is selling the cars, said it is “a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire a genuine piece of 1960s rock history”.
The sale is on September 1 in Auburn in the US state of Indiana. An estimate has not been put on the cars.
