and addressed to “Duchess Meghan” at the palace.

In one of the cards he pleaded with her to believe the heart attack that prevented him attending her wedding was real, following claims he faked it as a way to garner sympathy after posing in paparazzi pictures for cash.

Their feud deepened when he slammed the phone down on Prince Harry after he was found to have lied to the royal about faking the photos.

The award-winning lighting director said he suffered a heart attack just days before the May 19 wedding after his paparazzi deal emerged.

Though he had never met the prince, the pair had enjoyed a series of “warm and chatty’” conversations.

During the talks, they discussed how best to handle news of their romance when it became public – and the prince stressed that he should avoid the paparazzi at all costs.

“Harry told me I should never go to the press. That it would end in tears,” Mr Markle said. “He said, ‘They will eat you alive.’ He was right.”

But Mr Markle, on the advice of Samantha, entered into a deal with a British photographer. Together they faked four sets of pictures of him reading a book on Britain, working out on an exercise bike, being measured for a suit and looking at pictures of Meghan online.

They are said to have earned £100,000, with Mr Markle taking a small cut. A fifth set, of the pensioner at the home of his ex, Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland, was scuppered when other photographers happened to be at the property when he delivered flowers. After the photos were published Harry, 33, grew suspicious over their authenticity, but Mr Markle assured him they were genuine and he had not colluded with the paparazzi. It led to a statement being made by Kensington Palace through the press watchdog asking for the pensioner’s privacy to be respected. But less than 48 hours later CCTV footage emerged showing Mr Markle setting up the pictures with the photographer. The couple called Mr Markle again,

though by then he was in hospital recovering from the heart attack. Harry told him: “If you had listened to me this would never have happened.”

Mr Markle said he replied: “‘Maybe it would be better for you guys if I was dead, then you could pretend to be sad’. Then I hung up.”

His account of the events contrasts with a previous interview on Good Morning Britain, where he said: “I spoke to them both and I apologised.

“I realised it was a serious mistake. They were very forgiving, it wasn’t that difficult. Both Harry and Meghan were very forgiving about it.”

On reflection Mr Markle, who lives in Rosarito, Mexico, admits Harry was “absolutely right” to criticise him. He said: “I’m not mad at Harry. I’m not mad at Meghan. I love them. I wish them well. But as for the rest of it, f*** it. I’m done.” He said he is now planning to flee his home in Mexico to live “in a place where no one can find me and nobody knows me”.

Meghan’s mum was reportedly preparing to move to London to be near her. Sources close to the Duchess of Sussex say yoga teacher Doria, 61, is “the only” family member she now speaks to, after all trust on her father’s side has “eroded away”.

The mother and daughter are now said to be closer than ever as the war with her father and his family shows no signs of abating.

BULLYING burka berk Boris Johnson’s poisonous bigotry masks the daily uncovering of his Brexit lies.

The most blatant fibber and shameless chancer in modern politics must be delighted that inciting racial hatred throws a temporary veil over the grim price others will pay for his European porkies.

Hate preacher Berka Boris’s Donald Trump mini-me act has sparked a Tory civil war to topple Theresa May and install himself as Prime Minister.

Nasty, underhand, treacherous Johnson might fail. He deserves to lose. I hope he flops badly. Justice is served when the offender is punished. And the blond ambition’s lengthening record is criminal.

The £350million NHS lie and false Turkish invasion threat were calculated inventions to con a narrow victory in the Europe referendum that folk are finally seeing through.

Now 112 parliamentary constituencies have switched from Leave to Remain and a majority favour a people’s vote on staying or ruinously expensive terms never stuck down the side of a red bus. Johnson, a Conservative opportunist who seemingly can’t pass a gutter without rolling in the dirt, repeats the pattern by revelling in the adulation of toxic reactionaries as his most venomous disciples encourage the demonisation of a small, vulnerable group.

His far-right mentor Steve Bannon, a one-time banker considered too crazy even by Donald Trump, drools over the posturing Old Etonian posh boy pretending he’s the victim after playing an Islamophobic card.

I’m no fan of face coverings and the liberal in me questions if wearers are oppressed, yet we never set women free with mockery or encouraging abuse on streets.

In truth very few burkas or niqabs are worn in Britain – even in places such as Bradford or Blackburn – so Johnson’s lazy ignorance simply perpetuates resentful myths.

British Future think-tank director Sunder Katwala’s guesstimate is 3,000 to 5,000 of our country’s 1.43million Muslim women do, which is a tiny minority of a minority.

The one-time Foreign Secretary’s cheap digs are a reason why pollster Ipsos MORI found collectively the public wrongly thinks 10 million or 15% of the country is Muslim, when it is fewer than three million – just 5% of the population.

Tory Islamophobia is as unacceptable as Labour anti-Semitism, and probably more widespread.

Boris Johnson, sacked twice for lying, built a career on deception. It’s time he was stopped for good.
