Spurs manager warns his Old Trafford heroes: If we don’t focus and lose at Watford, we are heading for a crash

ANGRY Mauricio Pochettino has warned his players they are heading for a “crash” if they believe they have cracked Tottenham’s enigma code.

Far from making a big statement about their title credential­s, Pochettino (left) believes Spurs were flattered by their 3-0 win at Manchester United. And he fears Tottenham’s 100 per cent record this season will come a cropper at Vicarage Road tomorrow if they fail to grasp the difference between hype and glory.

Pochettino will be without injured goalkeeepe­r Hugo Lloris, who was charged with drink-driving last week and has now collected a thigh strain.

But as Watford bid to open their season with four straight League wins for the first time since 1988, Tottenham’s head coach remains far from satisfied with his team’s start.

Spurs have won plaudits for style on Pochettino’s watch but they have won no trophies for 10 years and he said: “My mood after the game (on Monday night) wasn’t great. I was disappoint­ed. “The reality was that our first half was not good enough and we needed to improve our performanc­e. If we want to win big things we need to be honest – it’s only three games into a season when we need to focus for 10 months.

“We are going to play on Sunday against a very good team who are over the moon after three games and they are going to fight for everything.

“If we are not ready, just because we beat Manchester United 3-0 and everything is fantastic, we are going to crash.

“That is my mood and that is my feeling.
