No stars in Simon’s eyes
SIMON YATES toasted his finest hour as a Grand Tour champion by insisting: I’ll never be a superstar.
Britain’s La Vuelta winner also hopes to bag a rainbow jersey at this month’s UCI Road Cycling World Championships in Innsbruck.
But he said: “I don’t think I’ll ever be a superstar, but that’s fine by me as it’s not in my character.
“I’m quite a laid-back guy, I like to relax on my own.
“I’ve had so many setbacks, and I guess they give you the motivation to keep trying, keep plugging away and keep trying to pull it off.”
