THE bodies of a retired British businessman and his Thai wife have been found in their garden after a six-day search.

Three hitmen have admitted killing Alan Hogg, 64, and his wife Nott, 61, after they were hired by her brother for just over £1,000 following family feuds over money, police said.

Mr Hogg, of Edinburgh, was blasted with a shotgun near his swimming pool and his wife was beaten to death with a hammer in the garage, detectives believe.

The bodies, buried six feet deep, were found by sniffer dogs behind a duck pond outside their home in Phrae, north Thailand.

Officers brought in a mechanical digger to excavate the area in the 32-acre grounds of Mr Hogg’s gated three-storey home.

Mr Hogg was the director of a laundry company in Bonnyrigg, Midlothian, and had moved to Thailand several years ago.

ASSASSINS

His daughter Robyn Hogg, 31, a production assistant, flew to Thailand from the UK after being told of her parents’ disappearance.

Police said the killers confessed after the remains were found.

The assassins told detectives they were paid by Mr Hogg’s brother-in-law Warut Satchakit, 63. He denies any involvement.

Police arrested the hitmen yesterday after linking them to Mr Hogg’s stolen white Ford Ranger pick-up truck, which was found on Monday.

Major Gen Sanpat Praputsra said: “Warut Satchakit has been arrested for the theft of the car and being involved with murder.

“Three suspects were traced from forensic checks on the car.

“They used a shotgun to kill Alan and said they buried him near the ducks. The villains used a hammer to murder his wife.”

Investigators found the truck had been bought by a tribe people who sold it to a man from Laos. He saw police were looking for it.

Blood was found on the walls of Mr Hogg’s pool changing rooms with signs someone had tried to wipe it away.

Neighbours described Nott as “the most beautiful woman in the town” and Alan as “very friendly”.
