50m are hit in Facebook hack attack

FACEBOOK has admitted a security breach which let attackers access more than 50 million accounts.

It was also forced to reset another 40 million accounts as a precaution.

Hackers exploited the “View As” which lets users see what their profile looks like to other users.

Facebook said it had acted to fix the problem and had alerted police.

The National Cyber Security Centre said users should not need to change passwords or delete profiles but that phishing attacks were possible.

It came after Donald Trump accused China of interfering in US elections.
