BLUNDER KEEPER HUGO SPURRED ON TO STOP EURO EXIT

- BY JOHN CROSS

HUGO LLORIS fears for Tottenham’s Champions League chances after admitting it has been tough to come back following his drink-drive shame.

The keeper (left) dropped a clanger against Barcelona after returning from injury to leave Spurs with a mountain to climb after back-to-back European

defeats. Lloris said: “It is true, Inter Milan won as well, to put us in a bad situation.

“We need to stay calm and focus on the Premier League, and then we need two great performances against PSV Eindhoven to be back in the race for qualification. Then we will see.

“In this group stage we are all agreed that Barcelona is the

favourite, and then we have to compete against Inter and PSV.

“To lose the first game in Milan has already put us in a difficult situation, especially when we were leading 1-0. But that’s part of football and we need to react.

“A few things happened in my private life, but the most important thing is that you stay focused on your job. I was

unfortunately injured and I tried my best to be back as soon as possible, and as strong as possible.

“But it is not easy to come back in this type of game without a game before.

“I tried my best, but the most important thing for me is to be back, build confidence and be back at my level.”
